I am raising money for my Eagle Scout Certification Project.  Eagle Scouts are required to conduct a community service project that will benefit the community.  I have chosen to do my project for the Lake Avenue Church's after school home on 500 E Villa Street, Pasadena.  Specifically, I will be remodeling their kitchen.  Currently, the kitchen cabinets are rotted and moldy due to water damage.  For the project, I will be replacing the lower kitchen cabinets, the countertop, and installing brand new upper kitchen cabinets.  This remodel will allow the students to participate in cooking classes and prepare meals in a safe, non-toxic environment.  The funds are needed immediately because I must complete this project no later than April 10th if I am to recieve my Eagle Scout Certification.  In terms of funding, the costs of materials required come to a total of $3700.  Because of the project's nonprofit status and my Eagle Advisor's connections, I've been able to receive a reduction of $1800 off the price of materials from Greencastle Cabinetry.  However, $2000 still remains to be raised to cover the cost of materials and provide a meal for the ten volunteers I have recruited to help remodel the kitchen.  The project is very meaningful to me because kids deserve a safe place to grow and learn in.  Being apart of improving the lives of the many young people the church serves in its after school programs and shelters will make a difference in the lives of many.  Thank you in advanced for your assistance, both I and the kids at Lake Avenue Church appreciate the help.
