Justice for Maya and Julia

My name is Jennifer Simon Liggett and I want to share a story with you. My brother, Steve Simon, is fighting to get his little girls Maya (10) and Julia (7) home safely. This past summer, the girls were abducted and victims of international parental kidnapping. I am asking for your help to bring the girls back to the United States and reunite them with their father.

Six months ago, the girls were alienated from their home, their sense of normalcy and were taken abroad. The relevant U.S. government and law enforcement agencies are aware and involved. To date, lawyers have been hired in the U.S. and Poland and have guided Steve through both the U.S. and Polish legal systems. In the US, he has been granted full legal and residential custody of his daughters. Unfortunately, it will take many more months, and many legal filings and procedures before Steve can hold and hug his young daughters again.

Steve previously had limited contact with his daughters but most recently all communication has been cut off. The mental anguish he is going through is indescribable.

I’ve been helping my brother since this nightmare began, but my help alone is not enough. I am asking for your help, and no donation is too small. Not only has he lost his little girls, he has lost a much relied upon portion of the family income which greatly impacts his ability to pay for the significant legal fees. The money raised will be used to lessen this burden in anticipation of the girls’ eventual return.
