Simon Community Scotland & attending Poachers Jamboree

1st Musselburgh Scouts – Homlessness

With support and help from Queen Margaret University (QMU), the Scouts have been given an opportunity to experience sleeping rough on 14th November, which is something that 70-100 people have to face every day in Edinburgh.
Purpose: The event provides a small glimpse of the nightly conditions experienced by people who are homeless. It is a challenge, but in a safe and controlled environment.
Experience: Scouts will be sleeping outdoors in the cold Musselburgh weather, with only a sleeping bag for warmth.
Support: 50% of the funds raised benefit the work of Simon Community Scotland,
50% supporting the scouts to attend an international camp in 2026.
