Major, Significant Needs

Donation protected
On June 12, our son Taylor was in a head-on car accident with a semi truck and suffered catastrophic injuries from the waist down - injuries we still don’t know the full extent of and won’t for a few months. There is a possibility of further surgeries or total replacements, and that will be determined once he is able to walk again later this year. He has been very slowly starting to heal, but because his washing machine is broken, he and his roommate and lifelong best friend Anthony, were going to Mike & Debbie’s to do laundry on July 10 and were T-boned by a truck on the way. Taylor and Anthony both suffered injuries and as of writing this, are both in the hospital. Taylor will be having another surgery to fix damage sustained in this unbelievable second car accident in less than a month.

We are not ones that ever ask for help, but the circumstances our family is facing every single day now are getting a little dire. Taylor lost his vehicle in the first crash and will eventually need another once he is able to return to work. Anthony has now lost his vehicle in the second crash and will have to have transportation once he goes back to work. They live in Olton and work in Plainview.

Taylor’s health insurance is not yet effective through his employer; however, a non-profit foundation with his employer may cover some or a majority of the medical bills. At this point, I would estimate that the medical costs alone are over one million dollars, and we are praying the foundation will be able to help with much of that eventually. Even if it does, there are still a mountain of other costs we are struggling with, including loss of wages due to being at the hospital off and on for weeks, costs for care and travel since then and also once they are both back home again, rent, utilities, grocery bills, phone bills, medications, any other medical equipment, and a pile of other costs. We have limited income at the moment to help care for the needs of our kids and grandkids.

It has been a prayerful, tearful struggle to decide whether doing this GoFund was the right thing, and this latest setback has unfortunately made the decision. Above all, we cherish your continued prayers. If you feel led to give even a single dollar to help with care, we would be so, so thankful, and we also know that one way or another, the Lord is a Waymaker and it will all somehow work out. He is infinitely faithful and all of this hardship, these trials, setbacks, and struggles are going to make a tremendous testimony for us all. Thank you, each of you, so very much for the love and support.

With much love and gratitude,
Stephanie, Scottie & all of our family
