Sight to dream

The press reports doom and gloom everyday, from the war in Ukraine and the Middle East, earthquakes around the world, the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, the list goes on and on!

Despite all of this, there is beauty in this world. I can SEE selfless acts of kindness on street corners, I can SEE the London skyline change over time, I can SEE the rainbow coloured plants blossom and sunshine through the autumn leaves walking through Regents Park. I can SEE hope in 2024!

Hi, my name Manoj Bharwani and I’m aiming to complete a 10k run in Regent’s Park on Sunday 21st January 2024 in aid of Sightsavers.

Sightsavers, established in 1950 works in more than 30 countries to prevent avoidable blindness and fight for rights of people with disabilities. The remarkable, relatively short eye surgeries cure conditions such as Cataracts, the world’s leading cause of blindness

or Trachoma caused by a bacterial infection often resulting in loss of sight. The agony and disability of blinding Trachoma can lead to a cycle of poverty, limiting many people’s access to health services, education & employment.

Operating procedures or antibiotics costing as little as £30 can cure a person of blindness and dramatically improve their quality of life, allowing them to help themselves.

The 10k run, though not a great distance will be a privilege and a challenge. I’m reaching out to you for your kind and generous support in raising funds to operate, cure and transform 100+ people of blindness and improve their lives immensely.

Every procedure undertaken will have a long lasting profound impact on the individual.
