The SIFF Cinema Workers Union is bargaining for our second contract! We ratified our first contract in April 2024 which expired this year. Our goals have been for better work hour stability, better staffing, and compensation closer to a living wage. SIFF’s management has been pushing for drastic changes including cutting our minimum staffing, cutting our sick leave hours, cutting pay for some staff and locking our wages for three years with no increases.

Our union’s officers as well as our bargaining team members are unpaid volunteers. Our expenses as a union are almost entirely legal fees for our lawyer, who not only helps us ensure that our contract is legally sound and wise but advises us on our strategy and direction as a Union.
