Not everyone may know this, but before living to Mexico, I worked as a Spanish teacher in France. During those years, I had the privilege of collaborating with an exceptional group of teachers and students to help sustain a nutritional and educational center in one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

This center exists to meet very real, daily needs. It provides children with one balanced, nutritious meal every day, covers school tuition, and ensures access to essential healthcare — including dental care, vaccinations, medication, and routine checkups. For many families, it is not just support. It is stability, safety, and a real chance at a future.

Since relocating to Mexico, my closer proximity to Central America has allowed me to take on a crucial role : being physically present on the ground. Almost every year (2019, 2022, 2023, 2024), I have traveled to Tegucigalpa to spend time at the center evaluating current needs, reassessing priorities, meeting families, and working directly with our local partners.

What’s important to understand is that a trip to Honduras is not inexpensive. Airfare, accommodations, and local transportation add up quickly. But this GoFundMe is not about funding a vacation.

It is about funding accountability, transparency, and continuity.

Donations also make it possible to organize a small, deeply meaningful gathering that brings together families and partners connected to the center. These moments are rare. For many, this is often the one and only time all year when everyone can be together in the same place — to share a meal, exchange hugs, and reconnect face to face. These gatherings matter more than words can easily express. They strengthen trust, restore dignity, and remind families that they are not alone.
