It's that time of year again! Love is in the air and restaurant phones are ringing off the hook... for most restaurant workers, Valentine's Day is our busiest shift of the whole year.

It's hard to imagine celebrating this special day without a romantic meal, just like it's hard to imagine how tough it can be to get by in the service industry unless you've experienced it firsthand. That's why, through PRWA, restaurant workers have come together to make the service industry a better place for all of us.

We need your help to stay centered on our mission to assist and empower restaurant workers. Literally. We need 10k to help with rent and utilities at our center on Liberty Ave in Bloomfield.

PRWA was created during the pandemic to support workers with immediate aid when we needed it most. Now that many of us are back to work, we're recalibrating so we can start to address the many issues we faced before COVID-19 shut down our workplaces. Sadly, these issues remain or have worsened now that restaurants are back in business.

One of PRWA's biggest milestones over the past three years was securing a community space for workers in 2021. It's located in the heart of one of Pittsburgh's most accessible neighborhoods: Bloomfield. We used it as our food distribution center to provide food aid to 80+ families each week up until 2/4. Now that we've ended our food aid program, we would like to find new ways to use the space to assist workers and foster community for the duration of our lease.

To hang on to our space and explore its potential, we need to raise $10k by 2/22/23! Can you show restaurant workers a little love this Valentine's Day by helping PRWA continue our work and maintain our space?

Helpful suggestions:
-If you're having trouble getting a dinner reservation, donate to us in honor of your sweetie!

-Or donate anyway and know you're taking care of the workers taking care of you this Valentine's Day.

-Single? Make this strange Hallmark holiday more meaningful with a little solidarity!

And remember 214 is 412 backwards... because that's kind of cool. Pittsburgh! Love! Restaurants! Workers! Help!
