Hi everyone, Heather here (Charles’ girlfriend)!

Some of you may already know, but for those who don’t — back in May, Charles’ mom, Shirley, took a serious fall outside her home and ended up breaking her hip. She’s been in a rehab facility ever since, working hard through physical therapy to regain her strength.

Thanks to her incredible determination — and truly, by the grace of God — Shirley was able to return home on July 9th!

Now that she’s back, we’re doing everything we can to ensure her home is safer and more accessible to prevent something like this from happening again. One major concern is the steep, uneven hill she previously had to navigate just to reach her water meter.

To solve this, we’re planning to repair and expand her back deck, and build a safe stairway that leads directly to the water meter — eliminating the dangerous hill altogether.

We’ve gotten quotes from a few carpenters/contractors, and while we’re moving forward in faith, the cost is more than Shirley and her immediate support network can manage alone.

That’s where we hope you might come in.

We’re reaching out to her extended friends, family, and community — anyone who knows and loves Shirley — to help us raise the funds needed to make her home safe and secure.
