Shirley Kurth Art Scholarships

Donation protected
Shirley Kurth was a beloved teacher, mentor, friend, aunt, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. Her continuous energy lifted us to another level of existence as her daily mission was to improve the lives of others. To her last breath, all she wanted to do was contribute and help. Despite Parkinson's Disease affecting her ability to simply stand or write in her 90's, she insisted on mowing the lawn, shoveling snow, raking leaves and creating Christmas cards. Her dreams consisted of things like going back to teaching art at Pewaukee High School, organizing more get-togethers for co-workers, family members or her son's wrestling teams and creating more original pieces of art to brighten someone's day. A small but special gift often received from Shirley was a smooth rock or seashell containing a warm message written in her wonderful calligraphy.
Shirley died on September 18th. 2024. We would like to offer a pair of 2025 art scholarships in her name for selected Pewaukee High School Art Students. We ask that you make a donation to this fund so that Shirley can contribute one last time to the Pewaukee High School Art Program.

Shirley's Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 2nd at Church and Chapel, 380 Blue Mound Road, Waukesha, WI 53188 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with stories and readings at noon.
