Shirley Holleran Clark

Hello, my name is Natascha Rodriguez, and I am putting together a GoFundMe page for one of my best friends since childhood, Shirley Clark. After having just celebrated her 38th birthday with her loving husband, James, and her two beautiful children, Cody (8) and Sadie (2) she was recently and unexpectedly diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer that has turned her world upside down. This last month has been a whirlwind of emotions, with the stark realization that the road ahead will be a tough one.

Shirley is one of the most genuine, caring and supportive people that I know. Her career of almost 20 years is one devoted to helping others through their own pain and suffering as a massage therapist.

But now, Shirley needs to put all of this on hold to focus on her own health and recovery. Due to the physical nature of Shirley’s work, she will be unable to continue working for the foreseeable future. This will cut their household income in half, adding to her worries.

Shirley, being self-employed, and James being a union employee means that they don’t qualify for state assistance like the FMLA. Though her husband’s company offers health insurance, there have already been and will continue to be tons of out-of-pocket costs that aren’t covered. They have already exhausted a large chunk of their savings on a high deductible and pre-treatments, again, adding to her growing list of worries.
