Shining a light for Darren Kwan
Donation protected
Darren (Daz) Kwan, A father, a husband, a son, a brother, an uncle, a god father, a friend… and an absolute legend.
Those who know Daz, will know he was the most friendly, down to earth guy you’ve ever met. He lived for his family, his friends, his faith and his fast cars.
Daz (37 years old) married his childhood sweetheart Vanessa 16 years ago, and they had a beautiful and incredibly special daughter Layla (12 years old). Together they built a beautiful life together filled with so much love, and they shared this love with everyone around them.
Daz was an automotive mechanic by trade, and was known for having MANY hobbies including surfing, driving (Darlene), go-karting, remote-control planes, candle making, guitar, welding, skateboarding, DIY, and supporting the Parramatta Eels... the list is endless. No task was ever too hard for Daz, and he was willing to give anything a go, and give anyone a hand.
It came as a huge surprise to everyone 5 years ago when such a fun loving, healthy, active young man was diagnosed with stage 4 Bowel Cancer. For the past 5 years Darren fought hard, undergoing 6 surgeries, 20 courses of radiation and over 40 rounds of chemo. He was a fighter because he had so much to live for… his girls.
Devastatingly, on March 30th 2023 Darren peacefully left this world surrounded by his loved ones.
Daz truly was the ‘light in the darkness’ that was Bowel cancer. Darren and his family are huge advocates for the disease, raising money and awareness despite their own personal hardships.
Although his light has gone out please help us to shine that light again for the Kwan family. We, as their friends, have decided to set up a fundraiser to help alleviate some of the stressful financial pressures ahead for Vanessa and Layla. If you are able, we would very much appreciate any contribution you can make.
We thank you for all the love and support you have given the Kwan family.
Don't forget to please light up your Lakwan & Co candles in memory of Daz.
