Every year, our houses go big with Christmas lights not just because we love the sparkle and the magic of the season, but because we love watching it bring joy to others. Seeing families stop by, kids’ faces light up, and neighbors share a moment of Christmas cheer has always been the heart behind our displays.
This year, though, that joy has taken on a deeper meaning in the Magnolia Green Community. And we want to use our little corner of holiday magic to shine a light where it’s truly needed. This year for a brave little girl named Chloe Callaway. She is facing an incredibly hard season, and her family is walking a path no child or parent should ever have to endure.
About 5 years ago Chloe was diagnosed with a rare lymphatic disease. She has been in and out of hospitals most of her last few years of life. Chloe is now a Freshman in High School and while many other girls her age are enjoying gearing up for the holidays and making Christmas lists. She is just wishing to be home with her family this holiday season. But instead, she is at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia recovering from an extensive and extremely painful procedure to seal multiple leaks in her lymphatic system. She has two chest tubes and limited mobility to even get up out of bed. She is enduring significant discomfort as she awaits the next steps in treatment. Steps that will likely keep her in the hospital through the holiday season.
So while the lights glow bright in our yards, and bring joy this holiday. We also hope that they inspire generosity and support for Chloe and her family. If our display brings a smile, we hope you will donate to bring one back to Chloe too.
The Callaway’s have poured so much love, service, and generosity into their community, church, and everyone around them. Now, we have the opportunity to rally around them.
We know times are challenging for many right now. But if you feel led to give, please know that any amount, big or small, will be an incredible blessing to the Callaway family. Your support will help with medical bills, meals, travel, and lost wages during this difficult season.
Thank you for standing with this precious family. Your love, generosity, and prayers mean more than you could ever know.
Merry Christmas!
