Running has always been my passion, my strength, my happiness, and my way of dealing with life’s challenges. Running has given me the courage and energy to keep moving forward, and most importantly a way of staying connected with my all-time favorite running partner, my beloved late husband, Makarand. Running the Tokyo Marathon was Makarand's dream - and I am going to try to live it for him. And I can only do this with your support!

Not all women in this world have the privileges I have through my friends, family, community, and career. Girls in developing countries often face systemic barriers simply because they are girls — denied education, health, respect, and safety. Plan International works to create lasting change by building safe schools, advocating for gender equality, and giving girls the tools to live with strength and dignity.

Running a marathon for charity is more than fun and fitness for me. It’s a deeply emotional and spiritual journey. Every drop of sweat, every mile I run is a step toward healing — a step toward change, connection, and hope for a better tomorrow.

I'm running not just for myself or for my love for Makarand or to cross the finish line — but for every girl whose life might be changed by this cause. Because in a world where so much feels beyond our control, we still have the power to lift others up.

This run is a tribute. For Love. For Strength. For Resilience. And above all - For Hope and a Better Tomorrow.
