In 2018 I was sitting at my work desk as I worked overnights and I couldn't stop thinking about the conversation I had with my grandparents. We spoke for hours about all the poverty in the Dominican Republic. We began to speak about the children specifically. My heart was heavy and I truly prayed for the Lord to bless me so that I could bless as many children as I could in my lifetime. Then the idea came!
The Lord laid on my heart that on my next trip to the Dominican Republic, I should bring school supplies to the children in need. I had no idea how this would pan out but I knew I was burdened to do something for someone. I opened up a Gofundme and by the grace of God, I was able to raise $1,500. My grandparents helped me to buy shoes and T-shirts, and pack all the book bags with supplies. So many people gave according to their capacity, and as a result we were able to bless 65+ children with school backpacks filled with supplies, shoes, and shirts.
I would never forget how one mother cried and told us " you are an answered prayer. I asked the Lord to help me because I had no idea how I would be able to provide school supplies for my children".
Today, our goal for 2024 is to visit the Dominican Republic and Jamaica to be a blessing to many more families. This is more than possible, please give generously and be a blessing!
