Hi, my name is Sherri. I am 61, and this year has been extremely crazy. I have to say I never thought I would be asking for help like this, but I have come to a point that I'm not sure what else to do.

It all started back in February when I started having electrical problems in my house. So, I called in an electrician to see what it was. This is when we discovered one of my spare rooms had been invaded by raccoons. They ate through the floor and proceeded to destroy everything in that room. I had to rent a dumpster to remove everything. Insurance would not cover anything because it was caused by raccoons. While checking the damage, it was determined that the roof had hail damage. So now I had to hire someone to trap the raccoons. My insurance has a $2500 deductible, which I don't have, and I don't have electricity to all of my house. So, I had to try to regroup.

On May 20th, I was having an electrician come in to check the wiring. I was sweeping up the room the raccoons got in, and as I was sweeping, I fell through the floor. Luckily, the electricians were coming. When they showed up, they basically had to rescue me. One of them crawled through the window as the other one called 911. So, I ended up breaking my upper arm and parts of my shoulder. So now I have a broken floor in the room. I still have a hail-damaged roof, a broken body, and a lot of medical bills. I have not worked since 5/19/2025. The one good thing was I was able to get FMLA through the state, which helped me to try to keep up with my bills. The problem is that runs out this week, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

I know that there are a lot more people out there that have it way worse than me, and through all this, I can still say I'm blessed. I'm just asking for a little help.
