My Names Chris Reeves I’m A Massive Lover Of Giving Back To Local Communities And Have Set Up This GofundMe To Help A well-being Cafe Based In Shepshed. I Take a Service User To The Cafe Once A Week And Have Seen The Impact It’s Not Only Had On The Service User But The Community As A Whole.

Passion is a youth hub in Shepshed, Leicestershire. It opened its doors in 2009 in response to the needs of young people in the town, giving them a safe space in the heart of the community. A decade and a half on, Passion continues to help young people in need to make the right choices. We have been able to give dozens of teenagers a qualification and work experience running our community cafe.

Our evening drop-in sessions give 11-18 year olds somewhere to go rather than hang around on the streets. We regularly have around 30 young people coming in and more when the weather is worse.

Recently we have been relying on grants to fund the project but these have come to an end. We have a team of new volunteers keen to refresh the charity and move Passion forward.

So, we urgently need funds to enable us to carry on. We must raise a minimum of £6,000 for the rent, buildings insurance, electricity bill and other costs. Our total costs last year were over £70,000.

When told we facing closure a 14 year old responded “We’d have nothing without this place”.

If everyone gave even a small amount we could easily secure the future of the charity and this vital resource for the young people of Shepshed.
