Hi all, my name is Ani and these are my two best friends Ty and Caty. They have been experiencing homelessness for several years, and after being denied and waitlisted time and time again in the Bay Area were brought to Eureka, CA under false pretenses and left to dry. Ty and Caty have been stuck there since, and are currently under threat of becoming without shelter again and being forced to live in their car with their two dogs Mama and Bubba George. They lose their housing in October, but the current conditions of the shelter are horrific. Ty is trans and the people at the shelter have continuously shamed him for his identity, misgendered and deadnamed him, and ransacked his room several times. Additionally the conditions of living at this shelter are extremely carceral, with unreasonable rules and restrictions on basic living standards that no person should have to endure.

No human being should have to endure homelessness and be further punished by the system that is supposed to support them. Their lives will only become more challenging after the legislation passed this week (BBB) begins to take effect, risking my friends housing and healthcare. So I am raising money to help my best friend get more permanent housing for him and his family and potentially to get out of Eureka where there are no jobs and little resources for them. ALL funds will be sent directly to Ty and Caty. Anything helps, truly. ❤️
