Hello, we are Team SHE, an incredible group of volunteers committed to improving healthcare in Somaliland. Founded in 2018, we have spent the last 6.5 years making a difference through voluntary trips, on-the-ground support, and online teaching sessions.

 Our mission is to address gaps in medical knowledge, skills, and resources in Somaliland. Since 2018, we’ve delivered training in Basic Life Support (BLS) and the Management of the Critically Ill Patient. From 2020 onwards, we expanded our work to include team training, Basic Surgical Skills workshops, and communication sessions to strengthen teamwork in high-pressure environments.

 Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to launch new sessions that will further enhance the skills and knowledge of healthcare professionals in the region. Our team has grown to include 19 multidisciplinary members from clinical, non-clinical, and non-medical backgrounds. Every member volunteers their  time and expertise to ensure the success of our trips to East Africa, working collaboratively to create sustainable and meaningful change.

•  Why is this important to us? We’ve seen first-hand the incredible resilience and dedication of healthcare providers in Somaliland, who deliver care in the face of significant challenges. Supporting their efforts is incredibly rewarding for all of us. It’s not just about training—it’s about building long-term partnerships, saving lives, and empowering communities to thrive.

 How will the funds be used? The funds raised will be used to:  

• Deliver training workshops and purchase necessary materials. 
• Donate critical medical equipment to hospitals in need. 
• Cover in-country travel and accommodation costs for our volunteer team.
•  Expand our programmes to reach more healthcare professionals in Somaliland.
