Help Us "Bead-It"!
Lumago Designs is a Social Enterprise based in Dumaguete City, Philippines. We work with wonder women who were otherwise born into marginalised circumstances and live in the community surrounding our city dumpsite. We recognise the need to protect our environment, provide fair and economic opportunities and share this important message through handcrafting beautiful jewellery using recycled materials. We’re currently donating 30% of our retail sales to frontliners in our city of Dumaguete to help them “Bead-It”!
We sympathise with everyone around the world who is struggling through this global crisis. Likewise, our artisan families are suffering immensely due to lack of work, food and funds to support them through this difficult time. Fortunately, we have been able to make weekly food distributions to these families, enabled by the donations already made.
Devastating Numbers.
The Philippines has the highest infection rate of health care workers in the region. As our Co-Owner here at Lumago Designs is a Medical Doctor, we have a direct link and insight to the needs of our local hospitals. At the moment, they are desperate for more effective protection against infection so they can continue their essential work. Through this campaign, the funds we collect will be spent on the following priorities:
1. Purchasing and donating PPE directly to the hospitals and medical facilities.
2. Relief goods and funds for families in need in our Community.
3. Help fund local initiatives that have dedicated their resources during this crisis to research, design, and create PPE otherwise difficult to source for our local frontliners.
