Itoro came to the United Kingdom with a simple dream. She wanted to study, build a future, and make her family proud.
Last year her life changed in an instant.
She was invited to the hospital. Doctors had discovered severe kidney disease. She spent weeks fighting for her life in ICU.
Today Itoro is still in hospital. The illness has left her with devastating damage to her hands and feet. Walking is painful and every step requires protective footwear and ongoing wound care.
Yet the greatest danger she faces now is not the illness.
It is homelessness.
What has happened
Itoro came to the UK as an international student. When her illness struck, everything changed. She lost her accommodation during her long hospital stay. She has no family here. Her immigration status means she cannot access public funds.
After months in hospital she now faces discharge with nowhere safe to go.
Imagine surviving a life threatening illness only to face the possibility of being on the streets.
Why we are asking for help
We are raising funds to give Itoro something she desperately needs.
Time.
Time to recover.
Time to find stable accommodation.
Time to rebuild her life after catastrophic illness.
The funds raised will help cover:
• safe temporary accommodation
• basic living support while she recovers
• transport to medical appointments
• essential care needs during recovery
This support will give Itoro the breathing space she needs while longer term solutions are explored.
Why your help matters
Right now Itoro is fighting two battles.
One for her health.
One for her dignity.
No one should survive a devastating illness only to face homelessness alone in a foreign country.
Your support can change that.
Even a small donation can help provide safety and stability during the most difficult period of her life.
How you can help
Please consider donating if you are able.
If you cannot donate, please share this appeal so more people can hear Itoro’s story.
Together we can help her find stability, dignity, and hope again.
