Our Story
My wife and I are in the fight of our lives — not for ourselves, but for a little girl who means the world to us. She’s our niece, born June 23, 2022. Since she was just 18 months old, we have been her primary caregivers.
In January 2024, her biological mother (who lived with us at the time) chose to leave and pursue a party lifestyle in Los Angeles, leaving her daughter in our care. The biological father — my brother-in-law — was occasionally present but never provided support or showed real interest in being a parent.
The biological mother gave us permission to adopt, and we began the process. Over the last year and a half, we have loved, cared for, and nurtured her like our own daughter. She has since been diagnosed with Level 3 autism, and we have worked tirelessly to ensure she receives therapy, medical care, and stability.
For 17 months, her biological parents showed no interest in her life. That changed only after we applied for disability benefits to help with her care. Just three days later, they demanded her back. Given their ongoing financial and mental instability, we knew she would not be safe in their custody — so we refused and continued with the adoption.
We have now had 5 hearings, and our final two day trial is set for March 27th and April 4th. This is the end of it, and we need as much support as possible to make sure that we can win this and keep our daughter with us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us and fighting for her future.
