Hello, everyone. My name is ShaDazia, but I go by Shay. I am a mother of 5 beautiful children who is battling breast cancer stage 3 (HER2+) to be exact. In May, I was told all my margins were clear, but here I am today, and it’s back as of 07/21/2025.

I’ve had gene testing, so I know my children will not have to endure it. Hopefully, it stops and ends with me, Lord willing. My oncologist recommended I have a double mastectomy. At first, I was undecided, but I’d rather lose my breasts than my kids lose me. My last treatment regimen included a lumpectomy and the bottom half of my left breast removed. I have to meet with my surgeon again next week to find out when they would like to schedule my surgery. I am going to be back out of work, and I’m terrified of what that looks like for my kids and myself, especially with school coming up.

I’m handling this the best way I know how. Mentally and emotionally, I have to be strong. I cannot bend in front of my kids; they cannot see it. I am afraid to tell them it’s back, but I know at some point, I’m going to have to break the news to them. I’d be lying if I said I was not terrified of what I’m up against, but I’m fighting. I refuse to go down without a fight. On behalf of my family, I’m asking, can you please share this even if you cannot donate? I know everyone is going through something, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. For my kids' sake, I’ll put my pride to the side because they are what matter the most. I don’t know why this is happening or why God allowed it, but I know one day I will be telling my testimony.
