Shaving My Head for Autism

Decided it's time for a change.

On Sunday, April 13th, I’ll be chopping off my hair to raise awareness and donations for Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) and donating the hair to Sustainable Salons.

Watching my sister, Taylah, and my brother-in-law, Zane, navigate the challenges of raising their son, Flynn, who has non-verbal autism, has given me a deeper appreciation for the complexities of autism.

My sister and her family have to be some of the most resilient people I've ever known. Over the past year, through heartbreaking loss, they have shown an unbreakable strength and love toward each other.

I hope that in some way, my small notion will help raise some awareness and show some love and support to other families who face similar challenges.

Many people only know me with long hair, and it’s a big decision for me to part ways with it - however I’m ensuring it goes towards further helping those in need by donating the off-cuts to the Sustainable Salon program, which helps send hair directly to wigmakers and organisations like the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation to be made into wigs and fund life-changing programs.

— HIGHEST DONATION GETS TO CAPTAIN THE CLIPPERS —

The highest donor by 12 PM on April 13th earns the exclusive right to take a swipe at my hair—whether it’s a clean shave or a reverse mohawk - you could hold the power.
To claim the honor, you must be available on April 13th in Brunswick, VIC.
Not keen on the clippers but still want to donate? No worries—the next highest donor will step up if you opt out.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
