Hopkins family,
Recently, one of our security staff at PCTB, Sharon, has been experiencing some financial hardship. Sharon is the sole income earner for her family, and she was planning on moving with her husband and daughter into a new home soon. However, after multiple hospital visits this year, she has had to put this plan on hold so she can pay rent and medical bills in the meantime. Our security staff work hard to keep us safe, and Sharon often comes in on weekends and days off so she can provide for her family. This is an opportunity to show her our appreciation for what she does.
Sharon's lease is up on October 26th, and by that time, she will need to find a way to pay for rent. If you can spare a little bit of money to help out Sharon, please donate. Any amount will help, and all the money will go directly to Sharon.
UPDATE 5/9/2022:
Dear friends,
Last year, we were able to make a huge difference for Sharon by helping her significantly catch up on rent payments. Your generosity helped get her eviction charges dismissed and bought her time to get back on her feet. Despite this, Sharon's landlord is once again pursuing eviction charges against her over her remaining $4,000+ rent balance. I'm sure many of you have seen Sharon working weekends and holidays as she desperately tries to keep her home, but she simply cannot work enough hours to fully catch up.
I'm here to ask you once again to consider donating to help Sharon keep her home, if you are able. If you are not, please share this fundraiser with your friends and colleagues. Sharon shows up every day with a selfless, positive attitude, and is always there to listen when things get tough or we need a shoulder to cry on. It's our responsibility to make sure that this member of our family is safe from eviction.

UPDATE 9/30/2020:
Hi all,
Unfortunately, Sharon has recently been in the emergency room again for heart problems, and has missed the past few weeks of work. To make matters worse, she just received an eviction notice from her landlord, as the slew of hospital stays and interruptions to work have put her over $3000 behind on rent.
I've adjusted the goal for this campaign to $4000 to reflect Sharon's current needs. If you are financially able, please consider making a donation to help out Sharon, and please share with anyone you think might be able to contribute. Sharon is desperately in need of our help right now.
Note: While we are aware of the CDC eviction moratorium that is currently in effect, this moratorium will expire at the end of this year. This means Sharon is going to need to catch up on rent and stay caught up before January to avoid being evicted from her home on New Years Day. Any small contribution you or someone you know is able to make will go directly toward making sure Sharon and her husband and daughter can stay in their home.

UPDATE 9/3/2020:
Dear Hopkins Family,
Sharon is incredibly grateful for your donations last year. Your generosity helped Sharon pay the security deposit for the apartment she moved her family into. She wants each of you to know how blessed she feels for your outpouring of support.
In the past few months, Sharon has been in and out of the hospital with severe chest pains, causing her to miss several weeks of work. To make matters worse, her husband has also been struggling with health issues. As she is the only source of income for her family, this situation has made it difficult to keep up with rent. Though she has been taking all the hours she can get, she is still behind on rent for August. Sharon fears that, if her work income isn't enough to pay off her back rent, her family will face the threat of eventual eviction.
I know that, in these times, everyone--including ourselves--is just doing what they can to get by. That is why I am asking for you to make a donation ONLY if you are financially able to do so. Any small amount--even if it is only $5--would be received with immense gratitude by Sharon and her husband and daughter. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this message with your colleagues and friends, so that we can show Sharon the compassion & graciousness of the Hopkins community.
