Hi, my name is Colleen and I am trying to help raise money for my mom Sharon .

The past year and a half have been pretty tough for her and my dad.

Last June, she was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin lymphoma and received chemo over the summer. In October, she had skin cancer, squamish cell carcinoma and had it surgically removed. I have had 14 additional biopsies over the year but only the first one was cancerous.

A week after her lymphoma diagnosis, my dad Robert was diagnosed with cancer of the blood (MDS) and emphysema and has been receiving chemo since then.

He was doing really well on chemo until this summer when his blood levels started dropping. He had 5 blood transfusions over 6 weeks in september and October. The week before Thanksgiving he developed an infection which resulted in going to emergency the Sunday of the long weekend. He also developed pneumonia and has been in the hospital every since. He passed away yesterday October 30.

On top of this heartbreaking loss, the financial burden has become overwhelming, with her bills far exceeding her pension, and they were both cut off from life insurance when they turned 70. She’s determined to keep her home, but she can’t do it alone right now.
