In 2021, I became a Scout leader almost by accident. After finishing university and feeling burnt out from work, I agreed to help my dad at my local Scout group, Broadstone Scouts, for one evening. That night changed everything and what started as a favour quickly became one of the best things in my life.
Since then, Scouting has helped me grow in confidence, push myself beyond my comfort zone, and make a positive difference in young people’s lives. From leading camps and cooking for 40+ people, to supporting Scouts as they face their fears (and facing my own along the way), it’s been an incredible journey.
In 2027, I have the opportunity to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Poland as a leader, a global event bringing together Scouts from all over the world. It’s a chance to represent my community, learn from other cultures, help young people have the trip of a lifetime, and bring new skills and experiences back to the young people I support.
I’m fundraising £1,600 to help cover the cost of the trip. Any support, big or small, would mean so much to me and the Scouts I lead. Thank you for helping me be part of something truly special.
