Shania’s FND Rehabilitation My First Half Marathon!

Resilient, brave and determined. The three words I would use to describe my baby sister Shania.

Last year Shania was diagnosed with a life changing condition called FND (Functional Neurological Disorder).

FND is a condition in which there is a problem with the functioning of the nervous system and how the brain and body send and/or receive signals. Since the onset of her conditions Shania is learning to walk again and continues to fight for a full recovery.

FND is a condition that is not yet well researched, heavily under-funded in the UK and unfortunately support is very limited for patients and their family. Since being discharged from hospital Shania has received very limited support to recover and has had to navigate her own recovery.

So far we have raised a huge £23,000 and myself and my friend JJ are running a half marathon to add to this amount so Shania can continue her ongoing therapy.

Shania you are incredible, an inspiration to many and I’m so proud of you. Keep fighting my girl and one day we will be running a marathon together I know it.
