Shane's Coastal Challenge Costa Rica

I'm taking part in The Coastal Challenge Costa Rica in February to raise awareness for mental health, while raising money for the FAB Foundation. My goal is to raise $24,260 ($100 for every KM I run). Your support would be greatly appreciated!

The Coastal Challenge is one of the world’s most inspiring and grueling multi-stage races. Running 242.6km in six stages, this race has tested the mental toughness, will, and endurance of some of the best ultra trail runners of the world as well as runners from all walks of life who have completed the challenge each year. The race starts on February 9th, 2025 and ends on February 14th.

The Fab Foundation (Fit Active Beautiful) aims to eliminate barriers by providing youth girls in grades six through eight with the goal-setting skills necessary to lead an empowered life. They are passionate about helping young girls in Hamilton from low income areas become strong women by building their goal-setting skills and self confidence.

Setting goals is something that has always helped me battle my own personal struggle with mental health. This is why FAB's efforts are such an inspiration to me and why I have chosen to raise money for this amazing organization.

2024 has been a very challenging year for me. My mental health suffered greatly, and I knew I had to refocus, clean my life up, and begin a new path. In order to successfully complete The Coastal Challenge I have set some very large goals which include training daily, reducing my alcohol intake, and focusing on my sleep, my routines, and my mental health.
