With this GoFundMe, we want to ask people to celebrate the lasting spirit of our daughter, sister, niece, mother, and friend, Shandra Gary-Lewis. Shawnie had a great sense of humor, enjoyed discussing current topics, traveling, and helping others. Aside from being a source of pure, unadulterated fun and love, she maintained a strong focus on her family (especially her children Shien, Davia, Dwayne Jr., and Keshaun) and her love of her work family.

Family was and has always been a priority to Shawnie. She played a pivotal role in our family celebrations, weekly family dinners, and our family vacations.

This legacy of love and unity will live on. We will honor her legacy by standing together and keeping the traditions we have grown to know and love. Her beautiful spirit is with us. We cherish our memories with her and will celebrate her life and the impact she has left on this world.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, she served her residents with compassion and provided quality care. Her thoughtfulness and kind spirit always provided safety and comfort to those in need.

On June 13th, three days after Dwayne Jr.’s birthday, we were greeted with a truth that we must accept. We are now focused on fortifying a foundation of love and growth for Shien, Davia, Dwayne Jr., and Keshaun.

We are asking for your financial support and assistance in building a solid foundation to support her children as they navigate this new normal without their mother. Shawnie worked tirelessly to provide a safe place for her and her children.

As we have always done, we will provide her children with family, love, and support. While nothing can replace the loss of their mother, we will do our part.
