Shakespeare half marathon for Neath’s Nails
Donation protected
I’m running the Shakespeare half marathon in Stratford-upon-Avon on 27th April. Im a novice runner but thought I’d throw myself in the deep end (what could possibly go wrong) and use the opportunity to do something meaningful by raising money for Neaths Nails.
Neath’s Nails is a newly formed charity, established by Neath’s family, providing nail packages and experiences for children with cancer. The charity was set up by a friend of mine, Neaths father, who is passionate about supporting childeren and families in their fight against cancer.
Their story
Neath loved having her nails painted ever since she was a little girl.
She was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma in June 2022, she fought a hard battle and kicked cancer’s butt. Sadly she gained her angel wings on the 28th May 2023 following stem cell transplant complications. During treatment Neath‘s nails became discoloured, this is a common side effect of chemotherapy. Neath loved painting her nails to hide the discoloration, and the nurses and doctors would often comment on her vibrant nails.
As a family we have decided to honour Neath by gifting nail care packages to other girls going through the oncology journey, something no child should have to go through. It’s a little something to put a smile on their faces.
This money will also go towards gift experiences to children kicking cancers butt! All to put smiles on their little faces.
