Shade Sails for St. Hubert's Outdoor Play Areas

About me:

Hello everyone! My name is Quinn. I'm 17 and working on becoming an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouting. For my final project, I'm volunteering to help St. Hubert's Animal Shelter in Madison, NJ to build sunshades for their dog play yards. I am doing this free of charge, so I am going to need a little bit of help.

The Problem:

The main outdoor play areas of St. Hubert's are completely exposed, without any trees or cover. On hot and sunny days, the dogs and volunteers have to sit and bake under the sun. And on rainy days, volunteers and dogs have no option to stay dry. Either everyone gets wet, or all the dogs have to come inside.

My Solution:

I'm installing THREE 24x24 ft. shade sails over the play areas. Here’s what that will do:

-- Give dogs and volunteers actual shade when it’s hot

-- Keep light rain/snow off them so time outside doesn’t get cut short

-- Make the space more comfortable for both dogs and volunteers
