Help Reunite a Family

Hi, my name's Belqis, and I'm fundraising for an Afghan refugee family that recently moved into our neighborhood. There is a total of 3 families that moved into this house. My family, along with some other generous donors, we're able to assist these families with home furnishings and other daily necessity items. After interacting with them, I've learned more about Sajjia, a kind and sweet young woman, away from her husband and raising three children all on her own. To make matters worse, her youngest son has Down's Syndrome. Years ago, her husband had managed to leave war-torn Afghanistan, hoping that he would work on way to get his family to join him soon. However, it’s been seven years now since they’ve been apart. Sajjia’s main concern now is reuniting her family. I was able to refer her to legal services where they can guide her and assist with her case. The attorney who has accepted her case has quoted her an initial fee of $2500 to start the process, plus more that may be needed depending on the case's complexity. All proceeds raised will go toward retaining services and assisting with her kids. She is currently working on attaining her driver's license so that she can begin work. She is limited in English and is trying to take courses to learn. This mom is working so hard to help her kids and reunite her family. She told me that she'll work as much as possible to pay for the services because her goal is for her kids to finally be with their father. I want to alleviate some of her stress and show her that there is hope and a community that will stand by her. Any help would be greatly appreciated and will go directly to this young mom who had endured so much but still carries on with gratitude and kindness.
