Faccio l’operaio e vivo con mia moglie e la nostra bambina nel quartiere Bolognina di Bologna, dove abitiamo dal 2018.

È un quartiere vivo, multiculturale, dove ci si saluta per strada e i bambini giocano ancora insieme.

Per noi, è casa.

⚙️ Abbiamo lavorato duramente per costruire qualcosa

In questi anni abbiamo affrontato di tutto:

contratti a termine

️ lavori precari

concorsi pubblici

sacrifici quotidiani

Finalmente io ho ottenuto un contratto a tempo indeterminato.

Mia moglie, invece, lavora da anni come educatrice con adulti e minori in difficoltà, un settore dove la stabilità è un miraggio.

Abbiamo investito tutti i nostri risparmi per permetterle di concludere la laurea in psicologia e avviare la libera professione.

Ha studiato tra un lavoro e l’altro, spesso di notte.

A luglio affronterà l’esame di abilitazione, e da settembre inizierà finalmente ad esercitare.

Ma poi è arrivata la doccia fredda

Il 16 giugno 2025, il nostro padrone di casa — il Reale Collegio di Spagna — ci ha comunicato che alla scadenza del contratto non ci sarà rinnovo.

Senza motivazioni.

Nessun rinnovo.

Nessun appello.

Non siamo i soli:

➡️ Bologna è invasa da affitti brevi e B&B

➡️ Anche la nostra amata Bolognina sta diventando una vetrina per turisti e studenti

➡️ Le famiglie vengono spinte fuori per guadagni più rapidi

Non vogliamo più vivere con la valigia pronta

Vogliamo acquistare casa qui, dove nostra figlia è cresciuta, dove abbiamo costruito relazioni, dove stiamo bene.

Ma anche con il mio contratto fisso, le banche non ci considerano affidabili.

Secondo loro, non abbiamo “sufficienti garanzie”, anche se potremmo, con qualche sacrificio, pagare una rata da 800 € al mese, comunque meno di un affitto medio a Bologna.

⚙️ We've worked hard to build something

Over the years, we’ve faced it all:

fixed-term contracts

️ unstable jobs

public exams

daily sacrifices

At last, I secured a permanent job.

My wife has worked for years as an educator for children and adults with disabilities — a sector where job stability is nearly nonexistent.

We invested all our savings so she could complete her degree in psychology and start her own practice.

She studied between jobs, often at night.

This July, she’ll take the licensing exam, and by September, she’ll finally begin to practice.

Then came the shock

On June 16, 2025, our landlord — the Reale Collegio di Spagna — informed us that our lease will not be renewed once it expires.

No explanation.

No extension.

No appeal.

We’re not the only ones:

➡️ Bologna is flooded with short-term rentals and B&Bs

➡️ Even our beloved Bolognina is becoming a showcase for tourists and students

➡️ Families are being pushed out for faster profits

We don’t want to live with our bags packed anymore

We want to buy a home here — where our daughter is growing up, where we’ve built friendships, where we feel good.

But even with a permanent contract, banks don’t consider us reliable.

They say we lack “sufficient guarantees” — even though we could, with some sacrifice, pay a mortgage of €800/month, which is less than rent in Bologna.
