Severn Beach Miniature Railway project

Hi my name is Joe Nemeth. I live in the lovely costal village of Severn Beach on the banks of the Severn Estuary. I was born in this village in 1962 and have lived here all my life. I love miniature railways and when I was a boy we had one in our family business. There was a boating lake in Severn Beach with a miniature railway which was first installed in 1936. It survived in various forms until 1976 . I build miniature passenger carrying railways locomotives and equipment. For the last 30 years I've dreamed of building a miniature railway on the original site. Well that time has arrived and I'm doing this. I'm using every penny I've saved over the last 30 years plus selling as many personal items such as my vintage van and motorcycles and other items. This railway is a community project where I want to attract locals to volunteer. I already have 21 people who have joined me and some are actively helping me build the line. The railway will be 400 metres long and will use real 1/5 scale live steam coal fired locomotive. Some over 80 years old. This project is costing far more than I expected even though I've been buying items and stockpiling for such a time. This railway is important to our community and has nationwide media coverage. BBC television and radio have recently covered it and I'm hoping they with cover the opening ceremony which is expected this Easter 2025. This railway will also be accessible to all as we are planning on have a special stylish carriage build for carrying 2 wheelchairs with there owners and carers.
