Last Sunday, September 21st, my husband had an accident.
He was doing some repairs around the house and fell from an 8-foot ladder.
He broke his collarbone (clavicle) in 2 places; they had to put a plate and some screws in it.
He also broke seven ribs, for which they do not have surgery or can even put a cast.
He stayed in the hospital for 5 days.
They sent him home with some strong pain meds and told me he must follow up with an orthopedist later.
From what I was able to gather, his recovery will be slow and painful. Ribs usually take between 4 and 12 Weeks to heal.
Considering he is 63 years old, I know it will not be only 4 Weeks.
He can't use his left arm due to the fracture on the clavicle (Collarbone). He is not supposed to lift any weight with it.
He is doing breathing exercises every 6 minutes when awake to prevent his lungs from collapsing and getting pneumonia.
Besides being heavily medicated.
A few years ago, he decided to go back to school. He is a full-time student and a senior at UCF.
A significant issue complicating matters is that he is unable to undertake any freelance work as an IT professional to pay our bills.
Please help.
Anything you can send will be used to pay for groceries, health insurance copays, cell phone bills, water, power bills, and the regular, everyday essentials of life.
