#SetTheExpectation Marist

Tax deductible
My name is Brenda Tracy and I am the survivor of a gang rape by four football players. After coming forward with my story in 2014, I quickly realized that educating, engaging, and inspiring men and coaches to become involved in the fight against sexual assault and physical violence was what I was most passionate about.

As a society, we hear a lot about men being the problem. However, I don’t believe we can talk about men as the problem unless we are also willing to talk about them as the solution.

#SetTheExpectation is a campaign that engages male athletes and their coaches as the solution. Through education, men’s engagement and raising awareness, I believe we can make our campuses and surrounding communities safer for everyone.

Marist football has decided to partner with my campaign and on October 20, 2018 they are hosting their first ever #SetTheExpectation game. On game day you’ll see players wearing teal and purple ribbons on their helmets and coaches will be wearing SetTheExpectation shirts. In an effort to support survivors and give back to their own community, Marist football has decided to do a fundraiser for www.gracesmithhouse.org .

Grace Smith House is a private not-for-profit domestic violence agency, providing both residential and non-residential services to victims of domestic violence and their children. They offer residential shelter, non-residential services, counseling, advocacy, legal assistance, and preventative education for residents of Dutchess County, NY and surrounding counties.

Please give what you can and thank you for supporting Grace Smith House, Marist Football, and #SetTheExpectation as we try to make a difference in the lives of survivors.
