For my 30th birthday, I want to do something different—something that brings glory to God and serves those in need. Instead of celebrating myself, I’m organizing a care package giveaway for the homeless at Hermann Park, with help from my daughter and anyone who feels called to volunteer. We’ll be gathering at 12:30 to distribute packages filled with essentials like hygiene items, snacks, socks, and notes of encouragement. Each package is thoughtfully prepared to offer comfort, dignity, and a reminder that God’s love is present, even in difficult times.

My hope is that these care packages will help the homeless feel seen, valued, and loved. I want each person to know that God cares deeply for them and that there are people actively wanting the best for them. This project is also about inspiring others—showing volunteers and anyone who hears about it that serving those in need isn’t as hard as it seems. I believe that small acts of kindness can spark bigger changes, and I want to encourage others to step out and serve in their own way.

I’ve never been one to seek attention on my birthday, but I see this as an opportunity to worship the Lord and carry out His will. 1 Corinthians 10:31 reminds me to do everything for God’s glory, and this event is my way of living that out. I hope this inspires others to give more, serve more, and remember that we’re here not just to receive, but to make a difference in the lives of others.
