My Home Country of Ethiopia
Donation protected
My name is Henok Cronin and I am a senior at IUPUI who is passionate about serving others both locally and globally. My brother and I were adopted from Ethiopia eleven years ago, and we're both excited to finally make the long overdue trip home this summer. During this trip, I would be accompanied by a group of young people who share my desire to serve others, while also learning about and appreciating Ethiopia's unique culture. This trip would not only open up many doors for me but also be a meaningful opportunity for me to help vulnerable communities in my country.
While a large portion of the trip will be spent serving my country, I'll also be able to see my birth mother and biological siblings for the first time in eleven years. It is important for my brother and me to thank our mother for making the ultimate sacrifice to provide a better life for me and my brother. I would not be where I am today without her. Remembering her decision to have faith in me is what motivates me to work hard every day. I will be going home with my college diploma to surprise my mom and I can’t wait to see her proud, surprised reaction. She has changed our lives for the better and I want to hug her and sincerely thank her in person. At the end of the trip, we will visit intriguing cultural sites in Ethiopia. Ethiopia has a unique history and culture that already interests me and I am excited to learn about even more. Your financial support, of any amount, would be graciously and humbly appreciated. We are grateful for your prayers and look forward to hopefully sharing our journey with you all!
