We are raising money for Caleb to get a diabetic alert dog. Caleb was diagnosed when he was 4 years old and he is now 6 years old. Within this time of having this disease he has already had three seizures all that has happened at night time. It is due to hypoglycemia with his blood sugars  dropping below 40. We have been in the hospital with one of these seizures because we could not get his blood sugar up where it needed to be. With a diabetic alert service dog they are able to detect when his blood sugars are dropping and Rising before it would get too low or too high by the scent his saliva and his sweat. We also have a Dexcom device on his stomach and the dog and the Dexcom will work hand in hand with each other to prevent him from ever getting so low again. Caleb also is very nervous and I believe that this will help calm his nerves when he is at school. He also has never been able to spend the night at friend's house and this would also allow him to be more of a child and to enjoy his childhood to the fullest.
