Serve Those Who Serve Them

Donation protected
Artist and local resident Mike Sekletar, with the help of his friend and artist Brian Goodwin, is painting murals in the heart of local communities to honor our nation's veterans. His latest artwork, being dedicated on Saturday, November 11, 2017 in downtown Amherst, Ohio,  features 10 Lorain County soldiers who were killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has turned the plain brick side of a building on Park Avenue into a beautiful work of art that places fallen soldiers amongst the living again near shopping and loacal eateries.

The mural being dedicated today took months of this husband and father's life, working day in and day out away from his family; as did it for artist Brian Goodwin. They completed all of this work, I found out last night, for little to no money.

I am the sister of one of the fallen soldiers featured in the mural. I have come to understand that service does not just belong to our veterans - our heroes. It does not just belong to Mike Sekletar, Brian Goodwin, and their families. It belongs to all of us!

I am asking for our community members throughout Lorain County to serve those who serve them (our veterans). Please donate $10, or more if you would like, to this go fund me page. 100% of the funds will go to Mike Sekletar, Brian Goodwin, and their families for their months of work for little to no pay, as well as towards additional mural projects to honor more of our community's veterans.

God bless!
