HELP US HOST MORE FUN INCLUSIVE DANCE & MUSIC SENSORY SAFE AND COVID SAFE EVENTS!

From August 2025 - We are Sensoria is moving towards being a Covid Safe(r) Organisation.

What does this mean? This means we will prioritise Covid Safety at our in-person events wherever possible and will prioritise safe spaces for immunocompromised, Chronically ill and neurodiverse disabled people. Through practicing Covid Safety- such as masking, testing and use of air-purifiers.

Why are we doing this? It has been made clear to us that the pandemic IS NOT over. Covid has been allowed to run rampant and as a mass-disabling event has pushed disabled, immunocompromised and chronically ill people out of public life completely.

Disabled people have a 4x higher mortality rate from covid. Additionally, lack of protections can cause permanent disability (Long Covid) in the following groups:

People of colour (32%)

Women (36%)

Transgender people (48%)

Neurodivergent people (30%)

People with HIV (58%)

Here’s some things you might have missed about Covid in the last couple of years:

Every 1 person with COVID infects an average of 5-6 people

Covid is airborne and moves through the air like smoke

Asymptomatic COVID infections are common - 1 in 3 and are equally contagious

FFP2/KN95 asks are 90% effective at preventing the spread of COVID

Vaccines no longer prevent the spread of COVID and very few are up to date

Negative rapid tests are only 30% reliable without symptoms.

As an organisation, events are not the only thing we do. In fact it is a SMALL portion of our work. We also do Access Consultancy, Access Coordination 1-1 support & advocacy as well as developing workshops such as our Anti-ableism and Intro to Sensory Safety training. And where we are partnering with other organisations we will do our best to advocate for masking and Covid Safety. And begin building coalitions to protect more disabled people in the arts.

There are so FEW disabled-arts organisations in the UK doing this. And so it will be a BIG step. But not an impossible one. Covid Safe events are POPULAR and regularly sell-out. By excluding immunocompromised people from your audiences you are excluding a HUGE population (25% of people - 1 in 4 are disabled). THIS is part of RADICAL ACCESS.
