Meet Jabulile – From Unemployed to Empowered Caregiver

Just a year ago, Jabulile, a mother of four from a rural community in Africa, struggled to find steady work. Jobs are scarce, and without formal training her chances of earning an income were slim. Every day, she faced the heartbreaking challenge of putting food on the table while dreaming of a better life for her children.

That dream began to take shape when Jabu joined the SenseAble Groups Child-Minder Training Program – a community-driven initiative funded through the generous support of crowdfunding donors like you. This program offers free, comprehensive  training to unemployed women, equipping them with vital knowledge in early childhood development, first aid, nutrition, emotional care, and professional ethics.

Through your support, others like Jabu:  

•  Will receive comprehensive training and complete the program with confidence.
• Gain the skills to care for children professionally and safely.
• Have the hope of securing a position as a child-minder, to work for a local family.
• Their income will support their children’s school fees and daily meals.
• They became a role model in her community, encouraging other women to pursue training, independence and self-improvement.

Over the past year, more than 50 women across rural and urban African communities have completed this training program—each with their own story of transformation, dignity, and newfound hope.

Financial breakdown:

R240 000 will enable us to train up to 50 unemployed women in groups of 7-10 at a time, for 20 days /group for 6 months. This at a low cost of R240/day/trainee. Which includes all training material, resources, facilitator fee, facility usage fee, food & drinks and printed certificates!
