Senna Hills Neighbors,
As you hopefully heard, one of our neighbor's (Katie Winstanley – Allium Drive) father is a retired plumber living in Florida. His name is Bob Lind (affectionately called Bob the Plumber!). After hearing what happened to his daughter's neighborhood, he drove from Florida with a truck full of plumbing supplies. He came to help our neighborhood and has been offering his services to Senna Hills residents ONLY.
He has not charged anything to any of his "customers" thus far (though several have already donated to him!), as his primary concern and goal has been to get people's water on as quickly as possible. When asked what we can do to repay his extreme kindness, Bob simply said "cover my expenses."
As such, I have created this fundraiser. However, in addition to expenses, I thought it would be nice to give him a nice little "extra" so that he can treat his wife to a nice dinner when he returns to Florida.
If you were a beneficiary of his services, please consider donating whatever amount you think is fair for the plumbing services you received. Also, many in the neighborhood have asked how they can say "thank you" to Bob even if you did not need plumbing help. Donating to the cause will be a great way for us all to tell him a big thanks for Senna Hills!
You have my word....all donations received here will go to the following:
- Bob's travel expenses (mileage, meals and hotel) - estimated to be ~$1,000 each way...he drove from West Palm Beach, Florida which is 1,300 miles each way!
- Bob's plumbing supply expenses - before coming to Austin, Bob bought ~$800 in supplies in Florida (these are supplies that are fully sold out in Austin right now!)
- Dinner for Bob and helpers while in town this week
- A little "extra" so Bob can treat his wife to a nice dinner when he returns to Florida - this is to say thank you from Senna Hills!
Please note...the target fundraising amount simply goes to cover Bob's expenses and will allow him to treat his wife to dinner when he gets home. Bob has not built in any cost for his time and plumbing expertise, so should we raise more than the target amount that will be given directly to Bob as a thank you.
We truly live in a great neighborhood and are fortunate to have a kind-hearted person like Bob Lind drive across the country to help us all! A huge thanks to Austin and Katie Winstanley, her father (Bob Lind) and Rex Hoover (who's been acting as Bob's plumbing assistant) for helping out our neighbors!!
