Senior Cat Leg Amputation

Donation protected
Hi! This fundraiser is for my sweet super senior cat Sparks. She's had a tumor on her paw for just over a year. It started with a limp, and now her paw is completely atrophied and is essentially a growing open wound that won’t close. The infection has been persistent and has eaten away at the bones in her paw.

Proceeding with the surgery is an easy choice—it’s not a surgery-or-put-down decision. She’s had X-rays and blood tests to confirm the cancer hasn’t spread. Dr said she has great blood work for a cat her age!
She eats well and has good energy—extremely good energy for her age and condition. A little afraid of what energy she will unleash when her leg is removed…

An X-ray of her paw was done last week at the vet. Bone are missing from the infection eating away at them.

I’ve had Sparks for almost 19 years—since I was 10! Giving her a pain-free and comfortable rest of her life is so important to me. :-)

The surgery is scheduled for Friday this week. The GoFundMe goal is only for the cost of the surgery & tests done by the Lachine DMV - Not tests I've gotten at the vet.
  • Consult: 166.71$
  • X-Rays: 365.05$
  • Pre Op blood tests: 379.42$
  • Surgery: 4000$ or so after taxes

As for my finances, the total is well over a month’s income. Since the tumor, it’s been costly with frequent vet visits, injections (painkillers and antibiotics), blood tests, biopsies & xrays on the paw—$100 to $300 a month for half a year.

Please share and only donate if you have the means to!
