Crowdfunding for my amazing friend Shon. Take a moment to read his message! If I know anyone who deserves to be at the DNC in Philadelphia, it's this guy:
"Berners! My name is Shon Pistoll. Many of you know me as “Shon Gunn.” I’m the founder of The Bernie Sanders Social Network Facebook GROUP and PAGE. I created the group and the page back in October of 2015. I started them because I live in Thailand and I thought it would be the best way for me to contribute to the campaign. If I was on the ground in the States, I would have been knocking on doors and talking to people on the street. I feel the group was the best way for me to get out Bernie’s message and to disseminate info about the revolution. We are at nearly 30,000 members in the group and the page has over 22,000 likes.
I couldn’t be more proud and honored to have met so many of you. Some of the connections I’ve made will last me a lifetime! I’m especially proud of the admin team I (along with the other admins) we have created. We have worked tirelessly in getting out the vote and trying to stay on Bernie’s message. I’ve made over 1,000 “I am a Democratic Socialist” profile pics for you all and every minute has been pure joy!
I am not a delegate and I do not have any official ties to the campaign. I’m doing this gofundme thing because I need your help to get to the convention in Philly. I really hate asking for money. It’s the worst. But, after watching the travesty in Nevada and all the other states where the rigged political system has raked us over the coals, I felt the need, the urge…the desire to get to Philly and be with you all for the convention. I want to be a part of the Political Revolution up close and personal like…
Again, I am not a delegate and I have no official ties to the campaign. I’m asking for your help with money for a plane ticket. I have friends in the area, so lodging is not something I’ll have to spend money on.
Please send me to Philly! I wanna march! I wanna chant! I wanna be a part of the Political Revolution and lock arms with thousands of Berners. I’m hoping to raise $1500 by mid June so I have time to plan for the convention in July. That’s the cost of the plane ticket. If the goal isn’t reached, I will donate all of the money to the campaign. If the goal is surpassed, I will also direct the surplus money to the campaign.
