Hello, my name is Ady Olvera (she/her/ella) and I'm a community advocate residing in Concord, CA. I was elected in January of 2023 as a delegate to the California Democratic Party and it requires that I serve as a representative for Democratic residents of Contra Costa County. Attending the convention is very costly, so I need your help getting there, covering the cost to stay in Los Angeles, as well as paying for Democratic Party Convention Fees.

WHO AM I? I am also the District 4 Director for the Democratic Party of Contra Costa County and serve on the Executive Committee representing Concord, Clayton, Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek residents. I am a Co-Convener for Concord Communities Alliance and a volunteer member of Bike Concord. Through these roles, I help groups and individuals with their advocacy goals, serve on collaborative groups, organize residents on issues important to them on a local level, and during election years support progressive candidates who run for office. In 2022, I was the Mt. Diablo Peace and Justice Hero Awardee for my outreach and support to those who are experiencing homelessness. I am not your typical Democrat. I am constantly calling out the status quo and fighting against moderate and conservative solutions that harm Black, Indigenous and other People of Color.

In my constant push for progress, I do not support moderate candidates. I actively push back against endorsing candidates who do not reflect progressive Democratic values. Compromise and caution are not appropriate for every problem; we need to be fierce, and unflappable, and continue to advocate for immediate solutions through the stories of our struggles.
