Let me tell you about our Birth Bestie — Tia Dowling.

Most of you already know how amazing Tia is.

She’s a devoted wife, a loving mother, a true friend, and quite possibly the best doula in all of NYC.

Tia is an unsung hero in our community. She shows up, time and time again, giving her all to the families she supports. Her work as a birth doula is beautiful, life-changing, and sacred — but it’s also unpredictable and incredibly demanding. Doulas often put their own lives on pause for the sake of others, and too often, their own dreams and opportunities get pushed aside.

Recently, Tia shared her dream of going back to college to become a —Mental Health Counselor continuing her life’s work of helping people. That’s just who she is.

I like to call her the Saint of Brooklyn Birth (I just made that up, but it’s true!). Now, it’s our turn to show up for her the way she’s shown up for so many of us.

College is expensive — sometimes even more than Brooklyn rent — but together, we can help lift some of that weight. Every single contribution, big or small, gets her closer to this dream.
