Sending Love to the Jamison Family

Donation protected
Sara Jamison is one of the kindest, most selfless, and gentle hearted people you will have the chance to meet. She is a fundamental part of the Downtown Sioux Falls community as well, with her passion for creating a better world extending not just to the ownership of her boutique, Terra Shepherd, but also to the community members that surround her. Sara’s servant heart has led to events like a neighborhood trash clean up, convenient voter registration, free will donation yoga classes, and fundraisers for ACE Academy and the Promising Futures Fund to help low income students get the supplies and education they need. Her love for her community is second only to the love she has for her family; Brent, Henry, Layla, and Jack. It is obvious to anyone who has a conversation with her that Sara is deeply invested in the world around her and  strives to make it a better place for everyone.

In the Fall of 2020, Sara and her family found out that the baby they are expecting was diagnosed with a complex congenital heart defect. After months of tests and doctor visits, it was determined that their little one would require surgery to correct his multiple heart defects immediately after birth. There is still so much that is unknown as to how involved the surgery will be and that is why we need your help. This is a journey that no one wants to take, but Sara and her family have continued to move forward through these challenges with grace and love. We are asking for your help in this world full of unknowns to offer the some small financial security while they spend this time preparing for baby J.

In February of 2021, Sara moved to Omaha to be close to the Children's Hospital & Medical Center and to save precious time after baby is born and before surgery. During all of this Sara continues to manage Terra Shepherd remotely while Brent and Henry are still here in Sioux Falls. This separation is difficult for them both emotionally and financially, and now it’s time for the community Sara has loved and supported to rally around her and her family. If you are able, please consider making a small donation to ease the worry and heartache that often  accompanies difficult decisions like these.

As Sara often likes to say, “it takes a village”, and now it is our turn as her village to band together, give what we can, and help this loving and compassionate family emerge from this challenge stronger than before.
