Sending Izzy to The Gambia

I am seeking support for an upcoming GirlGuiding South West of England trip to The Gambia, which promises to be a life-changing experience for me and my fellow guides.

This trip is scheduled for August 2025 and it aims to foster international friendship, cultural exchange, and community service. During our stay in The Gambia, we will be participating in various activities, including educational workshops, cultural immersion programs, and service projects that will directly benefit local communities. We are yet to find out exactly what community service we will be participating in but we have been told that we will probably be planting trees and working on local school projects.

Update August 2024:

UK Active Outdoors Ltd and 1st Stoke Gifford Guides are planning a sponsored canoe to assist Izzy to raise money for her Gambia Expedition. UK Active Outdoors Ltd have offered a guide and the hire of their canoes to assist the girls in their aim to row 4.5km which will be a thousandth of the distance between the UK and The Gambia. They will also be completing a river cleanup during the morning. Please feel free to leave a message of support for all of the girls or just the ones that you know. Thank you in advance.

If you haven't been to UK Active Outdoors Ltd yet it is well worth a visit for lots of different activities. So far the guides have completed indoor caving and a trial on the canoes in preparation for this sponsorship.
